The other day I was standing around talking with some girlfriends. We were chatting about each other’s strengths and weaknesses. By the way, surround yourself with people who you can be open and honest with and not filled with judgment.
They all had voiced that they loved how I shared my life. The good, the bad, and the ugly. But how did I get to that point where I was comfortable and not feeling judged? Especially with social media and running a business.
So, on the drive home I was thinking a lot about that conversation. Here’s my thought(s).
We can all unapologetically care about different things. But it took me a while to get to that point in my life.
I started noticing the change in my own life when I would do things like this. Here’s the order I’ve noticed that I went in. Live in the season of my life (this is where God and I have a lot of heart to hearts), Let people in (Oh this was a tough one. I refused to let people in on the hurt and sadness I went through), Ask questions (here is where I sought wisdom and guidance from others), Be kind to myself, Start small, Set house rules (For example, Cody and I go to bed together every night. That works for US and it helps OUR marriage), Schedule Rest, Decide Once (if I want to do something, I just go for it)
I will forever be adding to my life principles. Seriously though, live for your own life and not someone else’s. Others can INSPIRE you, yes. TEACH you, yes.
Remember though, living in your own season is about knowing the truth about who you are first.
