The Company Of Truth

Put yourself in the company of truth.

 

I have discovered a few things that help me when God seems silent. It’s okay to feel a little mad and a lot confused. Our God is big enough to handle our honest feelings. But God has also placed certain people in your life who you can talk with and trust in. Do you have that person in your life?!

That friend that speaks the truth? Listen to her. Stay connected to her. Let her speak truth into your life even when you’re tired of hearing it. Stand in the shadow of her faith when you feel your own faith is weak. Let her lead you back to God time and time again.

The past few days, I’ve felt distant from God. Not only from him but just in general. Today, I have had honest conversations with a few people. I talked about somethings that concerned me and what I’m worried about.

My sister sat on her couch today and listened to me vent. You might not know this, but Stephanie and I use to butt heads ALL THE TIME. We couldn’t have deep conversations without getting frustrated with another. But one day it completely changed. Steph has always been honest with me and tells me what I need to hear. Even when I don’t want to listen. I explained to her that day, that I needed her to be my sister. To be honest with me. But also understand I make mistakes and I need someone who will just listen to me not parent me. Guys, our relationship since that day is the strongest it has ever been.

Anyways, I talked with her about what was on my mind. She said something that I needed to hear. She said, “Listen. I know how your mind can get. You think about one thing and before you know it you’ve created way more thoughts. You’ve had A LOT of life changes in the past few years and even within the past six months. But think about all the great things that you’ve been given. ”

Today I was reminded that the best thing I can do when my heart is growing faint. Is to call out to God, my friends and my husband. Not pull away from them. They can handle my honesty and will respond. But I have to position myself to go where truth is.

So as we stay with God in these ways, we will become ready to receive His answer when it comes! He’s not silent but showing us his presence through our people.
